That pussy good, that pussy good
I’m tryin to hold on
I wish I could, you think I should?
Candi's ComMINTS
I meeeeeeeeaaaannn really?! To make a long blog short the song is disrespectful to God, the church, and should be to all those who profess to be Christ followers (even tho some are bumping it thru there speakers) seeing as how it is a mockery of ever-re-thang we stand for and believe in BUT if ur a regular sweet reader you know my commints are neva really short!
So yeeeeea the christian community (some of them) are in uproar about this blasphemous song. What makes it blasphemous????? -----> His disrespectful reference to the Holy Spirit, who is the spirit of God Himself and crying out to the Lord and inquiring of Him while he is referencing fornicating (smashing outside of marriage). Also the manner in which the terms church...PREACH...and Amen were used is unsettling because its pretty much mocking the dialect of the believer in terms of when we are in agreement. In the church when the pastor or speaker says something we agree on we say PREACH or AMEN.
So a North Philly pastor @JomoKJohnson and @MeekMill "got into it " on the radio. To me there was no back and forth because Meek wouldn't even let the man hardly get a word in, he came out the mouth side ways tryna check the pastors relevance...I guesss since Jomo isn't a TV evangelist he isn't relevant...NOT SO, God makes a man relevant and not men. Meek came out the gate saying the pastor wanted air time to get his name out and he shoulda just called him if he wanted money for his church... REALLY SON?! It wasn't about that it was about disrespecting the God that the Pastor serves...that I serve...Jomo took a stand for us all as believers I say and Meek Mill wasn't taken any seats. Then Meek went on smacking about how he does this and that and the preacher quoted a few scriptures but in the end the conversation was pointless because Meek didn't let the man speak, then he went to talking bout his family being Christians...uhhhhh...moving on along
Jomo took one for #TeamJesus he stood for what he believed in. The approach could have been better. Meek went off and said he didnt believe in God or what the pastor was talking about so I feel like quoting scripture wasn't the best way . You can deliver a message to the lost by other means because sometimes spiritual knowledge can not be recieved by the natural ear...AMEN (I had to do it!) I think this should have been done one on one because Meek prolly thought he was being attacked by it being public so he put his set up to defend himself <---- aint finna have ah no name pastor telling me im wrong and im this and im that...ya know...
Soooo Meek goes on 106 & Park to "apologize"in his own way I guess because it didn't sound like one to me. "If you feel disrespected, im sorry...maybe I can do a remix with a choir or sumthin." <-------WHAAAAAAAAAT! Then he said if his mom and grandma who are christians didnt say anything or see problem with it he doesn't care what others have so I meeaann say...*shrugs* WELP.
Rappers have been disrespecting God in there music so this is nothing new...just a lil more disrespectful the next. Kanye claims to have made Jesus walk so he not going to hell, Jayz aka J Hova seems to be a god and him and kanya on the throne..Rick Ross got something coming out entitled God forgives and I don't which ppl waiting to cop (prolly some Christians).
For me personally listening to secular music is something I sometimes struggle with. Some stuff I can listen to and some stuff I don't because it can have the potential to hurt my walk...I mean it sure doesn't help my walk in anyway. For me when I listen to secular music sometimes I feel a sort of disconnect from God...He is holy and if i'm filling up on filth and listening to things that go against His word...I guess I can expect it....NEVERTHELESS we as Christians as a whole have to do better about guarding our ears and be cognizant of what we allow in our hearts. We should never condone nor endorse anything that disrespects our God and as we grow and seek God He can and will help us in the areas we lack if we want the help (some ppl comfy where they are..). We should pray for those who don't know better and seek God on how to approach those ppl if He instructs us to do so...if they take it AWESOME if they don't, you did ur part.
And lastly to my fellow believers WE have got to do a better job a respecting God ourselves if we want the world to. WE mock God ourselves when we are deliberately disobedient, when we go where we KNOW we shouldn't, engage in behavior we KNOW we shouldn't...etc. Let's set an example and be the lights we were called to be! Love Ya'll

Romans 14:23
But if you have doubts about whether or not you should eat something, you are sinning if you go ahead and do it. For you are not following your convictions. If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning
Great Blog hun! .... I caught wind f the uproar on twitter but I hadn't heard the song nor read the lyrics so I was lost. It was the same day the interview with meek an the pastor came out so I went to hear that first and was shocked!! Meek was ridiculous, but the pastors delivery wasn't the best either.... To me he was coming from a good place but the delivery came off with not an ounce of compassion. meek was completely wrong for the song but what was interesting to me as what he said about his family. When you proclaim to be a follower of Christ people who dot really know Jesus take what you say and do as the gospel. For his grandmother and Niger to approve of the song gave him the green light in his mind. And that's what got to me most about this whole story. I never want to be that family member of friend of a sinner who condones and supports the things they do that are not pleasing to or within the will of God you know. Thanks for covering this topic boo you did it justice! #TeamJesus
